What is Minor Garbage Collection ? Minor Garbage Collection is a garbage collection event that is only run on Young Generation space. Objects in Young Generation, either Eden or S0/S1 are checked for their reference as well as their age counter. Unreferenced objects are freed up. Objects that meet an age threshold are moved to Old Generation. Minor Garbage Collection runs either on Eden + S0 or Eden + S1, and objects that are still referenced and do not meet the age counter are moved to the other Survivor Space <!--SR:!2025-11-25,7,250-->
