## Notes The *Corporate Carbon Footprint* is a framework for companies to report their carbon footprint. It is the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions, directly and indirectly, caused by a business's operations. It can be calculated or estimated by either [GHG Protocol](https://ghgprotocol.org/standards) or [ISO 14064](https://www.iso.org/standard/66453.html). ### Direct Emissions Direct emissions can be pretty easy to collect: building energy expenditure, business travel, etc. ### Indirect Emissions Can be harder to estimate. Employee travel, usage of products/services, etc. If these cannot be estimate accurately, databases exist for common company activity: - [GHG Protocol](https://ghgprotocol.org/life-cycle-databases) - [US EPA](https://www.epa.gov/climateleadership/scope-3-inventory-guidance) - [Impact Institute](https://www.impactinstitute.com/products/global-impact-database/gid-scope-3-emissions-data/) ## References - [Corporate Carbon Footprint - Onetrust](https://www.onetrust.com/blog/corporate-carbon-footprint-guide/)
