## Notes
It's the other half of the [[Menstruation|menstrual cycle]], before the [[Luteal Phase|luteal phase]]. The ovaries prepare several immature eggs to travel down the fallopian tubes for implantation in the uterus.
1. Pituitary gland (part of the hypothalamus) releases *follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)*. FSH tells the ovary to prepare eggs. The ovary produces follicules.
2. A dominant follicule forms.
3. Dominant follicule releases more [[Estrogen]] in the body. The increased [[Estrogen]] thickens the uterine lining.
4. Increased *estrogen* causes *FSH* to decrease.
1. Increased *estrogen* also triggers the pituitary gland to release *lutenizing hormone*, which causes the [[Luteal Phase|luteal phase]] to start, and the follicule releases the egg into the fallopian tupe
