## Anatomy
### Origin
The Gastrocnemius Muscle has two origins/heads in the [[Femur]], which is in the thigh
### Insertion
The gastrocnemius from each of the heads come together into its own tendon. That tendon then fuses with the [[Soleus Tendon]] to form the upper part of the [[Achilles Tendon]] and eventually attaches at the [[Calcaneus Bone]] (commonly known as the "heel bone").
## Function
- Flexes the knee
- Flexes the ankle

## Trigger Points
- All of them are near the heads of the muscle
