## Notes
The *luteal phase* is the second half of a woman's [[Menstruation|menstrual cycle]]. It's the part of the cycle where the uterine wall is thickened. It happens right after [[Ovulation|ovulation]].
During this phase, an egg travels from the ovary to the uterus. [[Progesterone]] increases, and this triggers the uterine lining to get thicker.
## Symptoms
Symptoms are similar to PMS:
- Mood changes
- Tender breasts
- Bloating
- Acne
- Changes in appetite
Other symptoms
- Base body temperature is slightly higher
- Vaginal discharge becomes dry and paste-like
