## Notes The *luteal phase* is the second half of a woman's [[Menstruation|menstrual cycle]]. It's the part of the cycle where the uterine wall is thickened. It happens right after [[Ovulation|ovulation]]. During this phase, an egg travels from the ovary to the uterus. [[Progesterone]] increases, and this triggers the uterine lining to get thicker. ## Symptoms Symptoms are similar to PMS: - Mood changes - Tender breasts - Bloating - Acne - Changes in appetite Other symptoms - Base body temperature is slightly higher - Vaginal discharge becomes dry and paste-like ## References - [Luteal Phase - Cleveland Clinic](https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/24417-luteal-phase)
