## Notes Recently on [[Lemmy]], I came across a tech initiative called [[Small Web]]. It's a departure from the "Big Web" which is mainly controlled by a handful of tech giants that farm people's data. The *Small Web* aims to put control back into the hands of the people that use it. Additionally it's a departure from [[blockchain]] technology, because even though processing is decentralized, the data itself still lives on the chain. Currently it's in development by [[Aral Balkan]] and [[Lara Kalbag]]
