## Description
I want to redesign and refocus my internet presence, especially for [[dalechang.dev]], and so I want to start with colors as they kind of set the whole look-and-feel of my brand and perception.
## Limitations
### Success, Warning, Error
I definitely want some shade of green, orange, and red for common UI elements, which means that the other colors (primary, secondary, tertiary) need to steer away from being too similar.
### Monochromatic
Personally I feel that monochromatic palettes don't do well in general unless they are focused around earthy tones.
### Light Theme? Dark Theme? Both?
Going with both themes definitely increases the complexity of color design and it's not something that I would be keen on handling myself. Personally I'd like to stick with dark themes.
### Inspiration
- Nothing too flashy
- Nightcore might be nice
- Space themes fit my background and interests
## Notes
### Swatch 1
![[color-palette-1.png]]
- Teal: `#219C90`
- Yellow: `#E9B824`
- Orange: `#EE9322`
- Red: `#D83F31`
#### Reactions
I like this because the "success", "warning", "error" colors are all there. The colors are pretty saturated so they pop out at you. I could imagine this in a Material-style project. I could imagine putting these colors into a palette and seeing what auto-generated colors come up.
#### Auto-Generated Relatives
- Charcoal: `#464655`
- Anti-flash White: `#E8E9EB`
- Caput Mortuum: `#522A27`
- Mauve: `#E4C1F9`
- Dark Purple: `#2C1320`
- Light Green: `#A9FDAC`
- Light Cyan: `#D7F9FF`
- Baby Powder: `#FCFFFD`
- Lapiz Lazuli: `#125E8A`
- Royal Purple: `#7768AE`
- Tang Blue: `#2B59C3`
- Manhattan Pink: `#9A7AA0`
I like the Lapiz Lazuli and Tang Blue as the primary and any of the following as secondary: Manhattan Pink, Royal Purple, Mauve.
