## Brainstorm
Much like how [Rotten Tomatoes](https://www.rottentomatoes.com/) has their own ubiquitous rating system with tomatoes and popcorn, I want to come up with a series of pictures/emojis that make it easy to distinguish the scale of how patriarchal something is.
I think I should do something on the scale of a single white man to the right and the equals sign to the left.
The goal is to help raise awareness at how patriarchal/equal content is. People should be able to spell out
### Actual Rating or Metrics or Factors
How would one actually rate content for how patriarchal it is vs how equal it is? There's going to be this line of intersectionality/identity that I probably need to address, but I think I can let outspoken people/trolls let me know separately.
### Bechdel Test
The [Bechdel Test - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bechdel_test) is a binary metric of how much agency a woman has in a film. A film is said to pass the test if two named women talk about something other than a man.
I feel like this is like the bare minimum starting point of identifying how much agency a non-male has. Invariably, films and tv shows are going to be centered around a protagonist. Usually this is an individual, and everyone else are supporting characters. However, we can make sure that these supporting characters are more than just eye candy or "sexy lamps".
